Relationship between crimes and punishment
A crime is a deliberate act that causes physical or psychological harm, damage to or loss of property, and is against the law.
There are lots of different types of crime and nearly everyone will experience a crime at some point in their lives.
Punishment is the act of inflicting a consequence or penalty on someone as a result of their wrongdoing, or the consequence or penalty itself. The act of grounding or spanking a child for wrongdoing is an example of punishment.
