Probability Distributions
Performance Objectives
Students should be able to:
- Use binomial expansion to solve simple problems.
- Use the poisson distribution to solve simple problems.
- Identify the properties of a normal distribution curve.
Content
Probability Distribution
Certain natural occurrences have random behaviors. From the nature of their randomness, we can build a theoretical probability model or distribution. Such a model or theoretical frequency distribution is called a PROBABILITY DISTRIBUTION.
The most important of these models are:
a. The binomial distribution;
b. The poisson distribution;
c. The normal distribution.
