Content
Protozoan are microscopic one-celled animals. They cause a lot of damage to livestock by causing the rapture of certain parts of the body when they multiply. They are usually carried by insects or directly from one infected animal to the other. The types of protozoan disease affecting livestock are trypanosomiasis, coccidiosis and babesiasis (red water).
1. Trypanosomiasis: This is a fatal disease that affects both animals and man. It is also called nagana disease or sleeping sickness.
