Content
Dentition refers to the number, arrangement and conformation of teeth in an organism. There are two main types of dentition: homodont (organisms have the same set of teeth) and heterodont (organisms possess teeth of different shapes, sized and functions. The type of teeth possessed by an animal is closely related to the type of food it eats.
Forms of Mammalian Teeth
Mammals have two sets of teeth. These are milk teeth and permanent teeth.
