Meaning of food contamination
Food contamination refers to the presence of harmful chemicals and microorganisms in food, which can cause consumer illness.
Food contamination further explains as foods that are spoiled or tainted because they either contain microorganisms, such as bacteria or parasites, or toxic substance that make them unfit for consumption.
Food contamination is anything in food that reduces safety or quality and is not supposed to be there. Food may be contaminated intentionally or accidentally.
