Students should be able to:

  1. Identify the properties of ceramics and glass
  2. Explain the types of plastic
  3. Define and classify rubber
  4. State the uses of rubber

Content

Properties of ceramics

Brittleness: they can break easily when dropped.

Colour: they are made in various colours.

Insulation:  it takes a longer time to absorb and it takes longer time to lose heart.

Non-corrosive: they are resistant to rust.

Non-magnetic: they are not attracted by a magnet.

Strength: they have high compressible strength to withstand pressure.

Durability: they last longer when kept from dropping.

Properties of glass

Density:
