OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, Pupils should be able to:

1. Identify the members of the family.

2. Mention the roles of members of the family. INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Pictures, charts etc.

MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY

 

ROLE OF THE FAMILY MEMBERS

Father

• Provision of food, shelter and money for the family

• Making important decisions.

 

Mother

• Preparing food and keeping the house in order

• Nurturing and raising the children, teaching the children morals and values

It is important to note that the above roles and any other traditional roles assigned to either parent could be performed by any of the parents. Indeed, both parents are to complement each other…
