Objectives: At the end of the lessons, the pupils should be able to:

  1. Mention some social amenities/infrastructures.
  1. List some of the main services provided to the people.

CONTENT OF THE TOPIC

Consequences of poor services

1 Lack of trust. The citizens will be dissatisfied and will not trust the government any more.

2 High costs of living. Private individuals would provide some of those services, and charge high rates on them. A good example is electricity. Many people now buy generators and petrol to provide electricity at home and in the factories.

3 An ineffective workforce. If teachers, for instance, are not paid, they will find it difficult to teach. Also, if the police…
