- State the reasons for loss of citizenship
Meaning of dual citizenship
Dual citizenship is when a person is legally a citizen of two countries at the same time. They will have legal rights and obligations in both countries. E.g. a child born to a Nigerian parent living in the United States becomes a United State citizen as well as a Nigerian citizen because the parents are Nigerians.
Meaning of dual citizenship
1. Through disloyalty: A naturalized citizen can lose his citizenship if his activities are prejudicial to the country’s corporate existence.
2.Renouncement: An individual can lose his citizenship by renouncing it
