Punishment for breaking the laws
The judiciary is the organ of government responsible for interpreting the laws and giving punishments to offenders or lawbreakers. However, there are various punishments that could be meted or given to any offender. Some of the punishments for breaking the laws are stated below:
1. Imprisonment: A law-breaker could be sentenced to jail for a particular period of time. It may be months, years or for life.
