TOPIC: DIFFERENCES BETWEEN HISTORY AND STORYTELLING / REASONS FOR STUDYING HISTORY
The following are some of the differences between History and storytelling:
1. History deals with the study of true accounts of the past but storytelling is a narrative of imagined or real events and people.
2. History could be a field of study but storytelling is non-academic and could be a way of creating entertaining people.
3. History has evidence and real facts but storytelling can be based both on real facts and fiction.
4. History deals with what happened in real life in the past but storytelling most often is thought out to teach lessons of life.
5. History is based on a specific period but storytelling is not.
6. History is based on facts, it can be proved with tangible evidence e.g. archaeological discoveries but storytelling in most cases is based on human imagination.
