1. State that adaptation may be a modification in response to environmental factors.
2. Describe the availability of water as the principal factors for plants and animal distribution
3. List examples of adaptation to environmental factors.

CONTENT

Evolutionary adaptation, or simply adaptation, is the adjustment of organisms to their environment to improve their chances at survival in that environment.

Organisms can adapt to an environment in different ways. They can adapt biologically, meaning they alter body functions. An example of biological adaptation can be seen in the bodies of people living at high altitudes, such as Tibet.
