Definition:  Budgeting can be defined as the management of time, money and energy planned wisely to suit the needs of an individual or group of people.

Food is an expensive item in a family budget, so it is important to shop economically and carefully.  In budgeting for food, these guidelines should be followed.

1.       Plan the weekly shopping before going out and stick to the plan as far as possible.

2.       Look for competitive prices, offers and multi-buy savings.

3.       Look for good quality foods, that is, good value for money.

4.       Buy only the amounts that are required.
