The need for civic education

Civic education helps us to:

1. Understand our rights; it helps us to know what to expect from the government.

2. Understand our responsibilities; it helps us to understand what we should do for our country.

3. Know how to practice democracy properly.

4. Learn more about how our government works; it helps us to learn how our leaders rule the country

The importance of civic education to national development

1. Civic education teaches us how to cooperate, even if we practice different religions, and belong to different ethnic groups.

2. It teaches us how we can make our society better

3. It teaches us that we should pay our taxes, and it shows us why we should do so.

4. It teaches us to obey rules and regulations.

5. It helps us to understand what the government is doing to protect us.

6. Civic education teaches us how we can become better citizens of our country

7. It helps us to ask questions about what the government is doing for us as citizens.
