- Solve calculations on Gay-Lussac’s and Avogadro’s law
- Solve calculations on ideal gas
Content
Gay-Lussac’s law of combining volumes
Gay-Lussac’s law states that the volume of gases which takes in a chemical reaction bears a simple whole-number ratio to one another and to the volume of the products if gaseous provided the temperature and pressure remains constant.
In the reaction,
H2 (g) + Cl2 (g) ---à 2HCl (g)
Gay-Lussac discovered that 1 volume of hydrogen gas reacted with 1volume of chlorine gas to form 2 volumes of hydrogen chloride. The equation for reaction shows the molecular ratio.... View More
