Meaning of trade association

Trade association is a voluntary body formed by members of a particular branch of trade or industry to represent the interests of members. It can also be an organization of businessmen, engaged in one line of business or who have a common interest in order to protect their common interest. Examples are manufacturers association, transport owners association, bar association, private medical practitioners association, private school proprietors association, etc.
