Content
Benefits of positive group behaviour
1. Companionship: This is the pleasant feeling that is shared in a friendly relationship. Examples are love, affection, peace, benevolence etc. it helps groups to know, help and see to the welfare of their members.
2. Survival and security: This groups force authorities to improve conditions of living and encourage their members and masses to acquire quality skills that can fetch better income.
3. Affiliation and status: positive group behaviour helps its members and masses to develop good organizational connections that are rewarding to people in the group. Examples are; political parties, civil society and religious organizations.
4. Power and control: The exercise of power is always seen in the hands of those with the ability to handle human and material resources to reward and punish people they deem fit. It also means that positive group behaviours have the ability to enforce decisions and compelling obedience from other people.
5. Achievable goals: groups can contribute to the growth of society. For example: coming together to construct roads, markets etc.
