TOPIC: JESUS POWER TO FORGIVE SINS (Luke 15:11-24)

 Meaning of forgiveness of sin

To sin means to commit an offence or break God’s law. When we fail to do what our parents, elders, teachers and those who rule us tell us to do, we disobey them and thereby sin against God.

Forgiveness means pardon. When we sin against God and realize what we did was wrong, we repent and ask God for forgiveness or pardon. If we are pardoned, we have been forgiven by God.

People who received forgiveness in the Bible

  1. The prodigal son

According to Luke 15: 11-24, the prodigal son was a lot sinner. When he realised his mistakes, he returned to His father, asked for forgiveness, and was forgiven of his sins.
