There are two types of family; they are:

1 Nuclear family

2 Extended family

Nuclear family

A nuclear family is a simple family made up of a father, a mother and their children. In other words, the members of a nuclear family are father, mother, sons and daughters. A nuclear family can also be referred to as an immediate family. In some situations, a man may have more than one wife. All the wives will still belong to the nuclear family. This is common among the Muslims.
