1. Boost production rate.

2. Helps farmers to market their products and earn good income.

3. It leads to specialization in different aspects of agriculture.

Nigerian Export Produce

There are major export crops grown in Nigeria which have exportable values and they include:

1. Cassava

2. Cashew nuts

3. Cocoa

4. Coffee

5. Cotton

6. Fruits

7. Groundnut

8. Rubber

9. Pepper

10. Banished

11. Timber

12. Hides and skin

13. Yam

14. Tea

Export Produce and States they are grown in Nigeria

Cocoa is grown in Ogun, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Ekiti, Osun and Ondo states of Nigeria.

Groundnut is mostly grown in the Northern states such as Kano, Bauchi, Kaduna, Taraba, Borno and Adamawa states.

Cassava is grown in Anambra, Imo, Delta, Edo, Benue, Cross river and Enugu states.

Coffee is mainly grown in Kwara, Bauchi and Osun states in Nigeria.

Cotton is grown in Kaduna, Ondo, Kano, Kastina, Kwara, Ogun, Zamfara, Jigawa, Sokoto and Kebbi states.

Pepper is grown mainly in Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa, Kastina, Sokoto, Plateau and Bauchi states.

Hides and skin is gotten from Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Niger, Kaduna, Zamfara, Borno, Taraba, Jigawa and Kebbi states.

Palm produce is gotten from Cross River, Edo, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Ondo, Enugu, Imo, Oyo, Abia and Ogun states.

 Yam is grown mainly in Oyo, Ekiti, Imo, Kaduna, Delta, Edo, Plateau, Osun, Ondo, Ogun, Kwara and Cross River states.

Benniseed is grown in Taraba, Benue, Jigawa and Nasarawa states.

Rubber is grown in Abia, Anambra, Rivers, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Ondo, Bayelsa, Ogun and Ebonyi States.

Cashew nuts are grown in Abia, Abuja, Kaduna, Logo, Niger, Oyo and  Imo States.

Fruits are grown in Ondo, Anambra, Kogi, Taraba, Cross River, Enugu, Ogun, Benue, Delta and Edo States.

Tea is grown in Taraba State.

Timber is gotten mainly from Oyo, Ondo, Osun, Ekiti, Edo and Ogun States.
