The Rule of majority is a principle that means in a group, the majority has the power to make decisions that are binding on other groups and individuals.

Democracy as a system of government thrives on the rule of the majority. The majority, here, means the dominant group which is determined by the party or individual who emerges victorious in an election by securing the highest number of the total votes cast.
