Nutrition is the process by which food is taken by living organisms in order to supply the nutrients required for the continuous metabolic reactions going on in the body. It is the process of taking in food and converting it into energy and other vital nutrients required for life. Food provides the nutrients needed by organisms. Nutrients are the substances which provide nutrition. Food is required by organisms in that:
- It provides the energy needed for various physical and metabolic activities.
