Susceptibility and resistance in animal disease

Susceptibility is simply a situation in the animal by which it is really attacked or infected. It means the disease can easily enter, established and manifest itself through clinical signs.

Resistance, on the other hand, is the ability of the animal to stop or reduce infestation or entry by disease-causing agents. This also means that the disease organism may invade the animal by gaining entry into its body but may not develop further to show signs…
