Performance objectives
The student should be able to:
- State the obligations of a citizen.
- Describe the consequences of citizens not performing obligations to the community, state and nation.

Obligations of citizen
1.Economic and financial Obligations: This is an obligation that a citizen must perform in the area of payment of tax and other relevant dues. These taxes are used to provide social amenities and construction of roads.
2. Civic and political obligations: This is the obligation that state that citizens must obey the law of the land and also to vote during an election.
Consequences of Failure of Performance of Obligations.
1. Lack of orderliness in the country.
2. Lack of development especially when a citizen does not pay taxes.
4. It can lead to anarchy especially when citizens do not vote their leaders.
4. State of oppression of the citizens by the government when they do not speak.
