Objectives: At the end of the lessons, the pupils should be able to
- Mention some social amenities/infrastructures.
- List some of the main services provided to the people.
CONTENT OF THE TOPIC
Helping the government to provide services
These are some of the ways we can help the government to provide services:
1 Everyone should pay their taxes regularly.
2 People should promptly pay bills and rates, e.g. water rate and electricity bills.
3 When children attend government schools, their parents should pay any official development levies imposed on pupils.
4 Those who undertake government contracts should be honest, provide high-quality service, and supply the right kind of materials that they have been contracted to supply.
