Farm animals can be classified on the following basis, group or criteria:
1. Classification based on size
2. Classification based on habitat
3. Classification based on body morphology
4. Classification based on the type of stomach
Classification Based on Size
On the basis of size, farm animals are grouped into:
1. Large animals: These are animals that have large body size with well-developed cells, tissues and organs. Examples are cattle, goat, sheep, donkey, camel, horses, whale, shark, crocodile etc.
