TOPIC: The Location of Benin on the Map of Nigeria

Objectives

At the end of this chapter, students should be able to:

1. identify the location of Benin on the map of Nigeria;

2. explain the Benin culture; and

3. state the significance of Benin culture in Nigerian history.

CONTENT

Benin is the capital of Edo State, located in the southern part of Nigeria. It is situated approximately 40 kilometres north of the Benin River.
