  1. Classify plants into seed and non-seed bearing
  2. Classify plants into categories like cereals, legumes, fibre, etc.

Content

Plants can be classified based on their uses.  Based on this classification, crops or plants are grouped into the following categories based on their uses. Some of these crops are given below:

A. Seed bearing and Non-Seed bearing

The plant kingdom is traditionally divided into four main divisions, i.e Thallophyta, Bryophyta, Pteridophyta and Spermatophyta.
