- Classify plants into seed and non-seed bearing
- Classify plants into categories like cereals, legumes, fibre, etc.
Content
Plants can be classified based on their uses. Based on this classification, crops or plants are grouped into the following categories based on their uses. Some of these crops are given below:
A. Seed bearing and Non-Seed bearing
The plant kingdom is traditionally divided into four main divisions, i.e Thallophyta, Bryophyta, Pteridophyta and Spermatophyta. Plants in division Spermatophyta are characterized by the presence of seeds and are called seed plants; whereas the plants in all the other three divisions lack the presence of seeds and are called seedless....
