Definition of accident

An accident is an unexpected and unpredictable event that occurs which may result in injury or death.

An accident can happen at a place of work, in a school, on a field of play, and at home. In order to prevent an accident, there are certain safety measures that should be taken. Safety measures are methods of preventing hazards.

It can also be defined as an unexpected event with negative consequences.
