Meaning of citizenship

Citizenship can be defined as the legal right that a person has to belong to a particular country.

Citizenship education is a process of bestowing on the citizens the acquisition of their rights, values and the development of total knowledge, skills and attitudes towards the affairs of their state.

Citizenship education is directed at achieving the following goals:

1. Educate citizens on their rights and obligations in the country.
