Meaning of Energy

Energy may be defined as the capacity or ability to do work. Energy exists in everybody whether they are human beings or animals or non-living things. Energy is measured in the same unit as work that is JOULES.

Renewable and non-renewable energy

Renewable energy is one that is naturally replaced when it is used.

Examples are sun, wind, and water.

Non-renewable energy is the energy that cannot be replaced after use.

Examples are fossil fuels, natural gas, and coal.
