Physics SSS1 First Term

WEEK 4

Motion

Performance Objectives

Students should be able to:

  1. Define motion
  2. Identify the different types of motion
  3. Explain the concept of relative motion.

Content

Motion involves a change of position of a body with time. The study of the motion of a body without involving the forces which cause motion is called Kinematics. The study of the forces and how they affect the motion of a body is called Dynamics.

Types of Motion

There are four types of motion. They include Oscillatory/Vibration, Random, Translational/rectilinear, Rotational motion.

  1. Oscillatory/Vibration Motion

This is also called Periodic motion. It is a type of motion that occurs very frequently in the motion of a body in a.... View More
