Ineffective personal security is when a neighbourhood is unsafe and insecure for people to live in.

Ineffective security brings about the following;

1. Loss of lives: Ineffective personal security makes the neighbourhood to be unsafe, thereby exposing the people to danger or harm to an extent which there maybe lost their lives.

2. Loss of properties: people tend to lose their properties through theft, violence or emergency situation when there in ineffective personal security.  

3. Fear: Ineffective personal security makes individuals afraid and insecure.
