Students should be able to:(1) Explain the meaning of environmental physiology.(2) State the effect of changes in;(a) Climate on growth, reproduction, milk production and egg production.(b) Temperature-control of heat/temperature.(c) Relative humidity-control of humidity.(d) Light-control of light.(e) List and discuss the effect of climate on reproduction.
Students should be able to:(1) State the meaning of livestock management.(2) State the requirement for good livestock management.(3) Explain the importance of theses management practices in livestock.(4) Keep farm animals and take care of them at least one ruminant and one non-ruminant.
Students should be able to;(i) Classify feeds(ii) Mention sources and functions of food nutrients(iii) State the different types of ration/diet and their uses(iv) State causes and symptoms of malnutrition and their corrections in farm animals
Students should be able to:(1) State the meaning of rangeland.(2) List the importance of rangeland.(3) State the characteristics of rangeland.(4) Mention some grasses of livestock rangeland.(5) State factors affecting the level of production of herbage.
