1. Explain the mode of transmission, symptom, prevention and control measures.

Content

1. Mastitis: This is an infectious disease affecting dairy animals like cattle, goat and pig.

Causal organism: Bacteria

Symptoms: Rise in temperature,  swollen udder and udder does not milk out.

Mode of transmission: Contact with contaminated milking machines and milking parlour.

Control measures:  Good hygiene and sanitation, use of antibiotics and test milk for incidence of the disease.

2. Fowl typhoid: This is an infectious disease that attack poultry.

Causal organism: Bacteria

Symptoms: Birds become dull,  pass out yellowish diarrhoea and eventual death.
