- Adequate nutrition and exercise
- Clean environment
- Use of safe water
- Proper disposal of refuse and sewage
- Seeking and getting treatment on time
- Good hygiene
- Immunization
- Good ventilation
- Health education and vaccination
- Washing your hands after using the toilet
- Cook your food well before eating them e.g. pork and beef
- Fresh fruits that are not cooked must be thoroughly washed with clean water
- Avoid moving near infected persons
- Always boil your water where treated water are not available
