Deforestation

Deforestation is the act of cutting down trees in an area.

Forests are of great importance to us and to our environment. But the rates at which trees and forests are cleared are so alarming and could lead to deforestation. Trees are cut down indiscriminately for timbers, firewood, etc. which could pose serious environmental and climatic problems as wildlife is widely affected, leading to the destruction of the animal habitats, wildlife extinction, and soil erosion.
